FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to cardiovascular surgery. Before cardiac verticalization deep traction sutures are applied on pericardium behind left atrium (LA). Side wall of the heart is pressed under the base of the auricular appendage of the LA by the vacuum stabilizer of the myocardium. Curved atraumatic clamp with straight branches is applied on the base of the LA auricular appendage. Continuous horizontal mattress suture is applied under the branches. Epicardial resection of the LA auricular appendage is performed above the closed clamp branches with the unopened cavity of the LA. Clamp is removed and reverse twisted suture is applied with the same thread. LA auricular appendage excision and suture closure of its stump are performed on the working heart, excluding the connection of the cardiopulmonary bypass (CB).

EFFECT: method enables reducing the risk of postoperative complications, such as systemic inflammatory reaction, multiple-organ failure, reducing the need for perioperative blood transfusions; and also enables reducing the duration of artificial lung ventilation after operation; reducing the postoperative number of hospital days in the intensive care unit.
