FIELD: computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for automatic detection of failures and subsequent emergency control of a failed unmanned vehicle. Vehicle comprises means of monitoring location and movement, telemetry and a computing device storing limit values of parameters, reflecting onset of unmanned vehicle movement control system failures. Location and motion data are used to implement an algorithm for selecting an acceptable place and stopping an unmanned vehicle. Data on detected failures are transmitted by means of telemetry. Software of the computing device is equipped with an algorithm for identifying the operating mode by standard parameters of the functioning of components and movement, algorithms for detecting failures based on signals from electronic units and control modules. After detecting the failure, an algorithm for emergency control of the failed unmanned vehicle is performed, and the following is performed: activation of emergency radio and light signaling, control of movement to the place of emergency stop, disconnection and switching of components into emergency mode, generation and transmission of data on failure and location of failed unmanned vehicle to carrier, owner and road technical assistance service.
