FIELD: cosmonautics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to extravehicular activities of astronauts. Device for repairing damage to screen-vacuum heat insulation (SVHI) of a space object comprises SVHI mat with metal frame and fastening mechanisms. An adhesive layer (with a removable protective tape) is applied on the surface of the SVHI mat for its preliminary fixation on the damaged area of the SVHI. Along the edges of the SVHI mat there are fastening mechanisms with spring drives of bent needles. During operation of the device, the SVHI mat fastened to the safety halyard is delivered to the point of damage and glued to the repaired surface (by removing the halyard). For the final fixation of the mat, the fastening mechanisms are tightly pressed to the surface of the SVHI and the actuators of the needles are actuated by pressing the release button. As a result, each curved needle, moving in a circle, pierces the SVHI layer of the specified depth and enters the housing of the fastening mechanism with its sharp end.
EFFECT: higher safety, efficiency and reliability of repair and restoration of space object SVHI.
