FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing carbon nanotubes, involving: (i) obtaining flare gas containing carbon-containing gases; (ii) cleaning the flare gas by subjecting the flare gas to one or more processes to remove at least a portion of any excess hydrogen sulphide from the flare gas; (iii) introducing a mixture of flare gas, catalyst and hydrogen into the reactor; (iv) allowing carbon atoms of carbon-containing gases to react with the catalyst to form carbon nanotubes; and (v) collecting the carbon nanotubes.
EFFECT: invention enables to process low-value raw materials into high-value products.
