FIELD: fodder.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing a peat-based fodder additive and is intended for farm animals and poultry to accelerate their growth, reduce morbidity and mortality. Method for producing a therapeutic fodder additive from peat is characterized by that a water suspension is prepared from peat of one of the deposits of the Tomsk region to achieve hydromodule of 1:20, respectively peat : water ratio, and the obtained mixture is subjected to physical action in the form of mechanical activation in a rotary-pulsating apparatus for 5 minutes. Then heating is carried out at temperature of 125–135 °C for 4 hours while adding aqueous solutions of ammonia and hydrogen peroxide to achieve pH 9–10. Further, the liquid phase containing 0.1–0.5 % of humic substances in the therapeutic fodder additive is separated.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a feed additive with content of 0_1–0_5 % of humic substances, providing higher productivity and safety of farm animals and poultry from respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases due to immune system strengthening, activation and normalization of digestion processes.
