SUBSTANCE: disclosed technical solution relates to information technology, namely to methods and systems for controlling voice assistants. Essence of the present invention consists in the fact that one of a plurality of key words pronounced by a user is detected, wherein each of the plurality of keywords is associated with a corresponding voice assistant application; checking whether any of the plurality of voice assistant applications is designated as uninterrupted; activating one of the plurality of voice assistant applications associated with the detected key word if it is determined that none of the plurality of voice assistant applications is designated as uninterrupted.
EFFECT: protecting a user from arbitrary activation of a voice assistant caused by a key word of another voice assistant, as well as ambient noise.
