FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used to predict the risk of lethal outcome in first 4 years from the beginning of anticancer treatment in patients with squamous cell lung cancer. Biopsy material of the patients is examined for the expression of desmocollin 3 (DSC3) and the level of DAPK gene methylation before the beginning of the chemoradiation treatment. Obtained values are substituted into the formula for calculating the risk of death P2. If P2 is more than 0.37, a high risk of lethal outcome is determined.
EFFECT: method enables predicting the risk of lethal outcome in the patients with squamous cell carcinoma by determining the DSC3 expression and the DAPK gene methylation level before the chemoradiation treatment.
