SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a strapping machine configured to strap an object, such as a reinforcing bar, with a wire. Technical result is achieved by the fact that the strapping machine comprises a wire feed unit configured to feed a wire; a bend forming unit configured to form a wire feed path along which wire fed in a first direction by the wire feed unit is wound around the object; and a strapping unit configured to twist wire fed in a first direction by the wire feed unit and wind on the object, wherein the wire feed unit comprises a pair of feed elements configured to arrange the wire in the middle and feed the wire by means of a rotation operation, and a feed motor configured to drive the feed elements, wherein the strapping machine further comprises a control unit configured to control the wire feed unit, wherein the control unit is configured to control the wire feed unit in order to enable the wire located in the middle between the feed elements to be discharged from the feed elements, and wherein the control unit is configured to stop the feeding electric motor, which feeds the wire in a second direction opposite to the first direction, on the basis of load change applied to the supply motor, or on the basis of the supply motor rotation value. Embodiments of the strapping machine are also described.

EFFECT: creation of a strapping machine allowing wire release even when the pressing force for pressing a pair of feeding elements in the direction of approaching closely to each other increases.
