FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: strapping machine comprises a wire feed unit configured to feed wire; a bending guide configured to bend a wire which is fed in a forward direction by the wire feed unit; and a strapping unit configured to twist wire fed in a reverse direction by the wire feed unit and wind on the object. Strapping unit comprises a housing for wire engagement, made with possibility of engagement of the end side of the top of the wire fed in the forward direction by means of the wire feed unit bent by means of the bending guide and wound around the object. Strapping machine comprises a tensioning unit for tensioning, to an object, a section of wire on a second side located on the opposite side relative to the bending guide relative to the object, before the wire section on the first side located on the bending guide wire wound around the object and hooked on the tip end. In the direction along the wire feed path, the wire portion on the first side is located closer to the wire feed unit than the wire portion on the second side, and the wire portion on the second side is located closer to the engaged position of the wire engaged at the tip end than the wire portion on the first side.

EFFECT: creation of sufficient tension of wire when it is fed back when tying reinforcing rods.
