FIELD: strapping machine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a strapping machine capable of strapping an object to be strapped, such as a reinforcing bar, with a wire. The technical result is achieved by the fact that the strapping machine contains a wire feed unit configured to feed wire; a bend forming unit configured to form a path along which the wire fed by the wire feeding unit is to be wound around the object to be wrapped; the docking part to which the object to be tied must be docked; a cutting unit configured to cut the wire wound around the object to be tied; and a strapping block configured to twist a wire wound around an object to be strapped, wherein the strapping block contains a rotating shaft; a wire-engaging body configured to move in the axial direction of the rotating shaft and engage the wire in the first working area in the axial direction of the rotating shaft and configured to move in the axial direction of the rotating shaft and twist the wire with rotation along with the rotating shaft in the second working area in axial direction of the rotating shaft; a rotation control portion configured to control rotation of the wire engaging body; and a tension applying portion including a tension applying spring provided on an outer periphery of the wire engaging body, the tension applying spring being configured to press the wire engaging housing in a direction away from the mating portion, the tension applying portion thereby being configured with the ability to perform, in the second work area, the operation of applying tension to a wire engaged by the housing to engage the wire in the first work area, and the tension applied to the wire is equal to or greater than 10% and equal to or less than 50% relative to the maximum tensile load of the wire.

EFFECT: increase of binding force of the strapping machine.
