METHOD FOR DETERMINING DOWNTIME OF DRILLING EQUIPMENT IN WELL Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC E21B44/00 G07C3/00

Abstract RU 2818327 C1

FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry, namely to methods of control and automation of drilling processes. Method for determining downtime of drilling equipment in a well is characterized by that using sensors installed on drilling equipment, the state of this equipment is recorded, a signal is generated at the outputs of the sensors, which is transmitted to the inputs of the controller for digital processing of the signal into an alarm signal. Further, the signal from the output of the controller is transmitted to the input of the intermediate switching equipment. Signal from the output of the intermediate switching equipment is then transmitted to the input of the light and sound alarm. Controller is configured to check if the rotor wedges of the drilling rig are applied. If the drilling rig rotor wedges are applied, the controller starts the timer for the specified time interval, if the drilling rig rotor wedges are not applied, it is checked whether the hydraulic brake is on. If the hydraulic brake is on, then the controller starts the timer for the specified period of time, if the hydraulic brake is not on, then it is checked whether the pneumatic brake is on. If the pneumatic brake is on, the controller starts the timer for the specified period of time, if the pneumatic brake is not on, then the rotation of the top drive system is checked. If there is no rotation of the top drive system, then the controller starts the timer for the specified period of time, if there is rotation of the top drive system, then rotation of the winch drum is checked. If the winch drum does not rotate, the controller starts the timer for the specified period of time. Then, if the timer has triggered, the controller turns on the light and sound alarm, then the alarm is reset and the timer is turned on for one minute, and the state of the sensors installed on the drilling equipment is checked, if during the timer the state of the sensors has not changed, then a light and sound alarm is turned on.

EFFECT: increase in the drilling equipment downtime detection rate, reduction of the drilling equipment downtime, increase in the drilling equipment efficiency, improving reliability of information on actual reasons of downtime, as well as possibility of warning about sticking of drilling equipment during downtime in a well.
