FIELD: methods and apparatus for producing or collecting water.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for producing fresh water from water vapours contained in ambient air, and can be used to produce fresh water mainly in coastal areas with high tide intensity. Purpose of the invention is to increase the efficiency of using the thermal potential of sea water, as well as increase the useful operating time of the device. Device consists of a pool filled with sea water at high tide, in the lower part of which there are weirs initially closed by doors. Shields are installed at an angle to the side surface of the pool along its perimeter in the immediate vicinity of the weirs and above them by means of fasteners, so that their ends opposite to the fixed ones are in a free state above the fresh water collection tank. Shields made in the form of two planes forming a dihedral angle in range of 90° up to 160°, act as a cooled partition separating the condensation zone of water vapor and cooling water. Discharge of condensed fresh water from the condensation zone is carried out into the tank for collecting fresh water. Solar energy concentrators are installed on holders at the focal distance above the shields. In order to impart strength of attachment of shields, supports are additionally provided in their central part, which are dug into the ground. Shields on sides have limiting surfaces from low-heat-conductivity material, which prevent leakage of sea water beyond the limits of water conduits formed by them, shields and surface of the earth. Weirs are equipped with pressure regulators of the outflowing sea water.
EFFECT: invention provides higher efficiency of using thermal potential of sea water, as well as increase of useful time of device operation.
