FIELD: methods and apparatus for producing or collecting water.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for producing fresh water from water vapours contained in ambient air, and can be used to produce fresh water mainly in coastal areas with high tide intensity. Device comprises a cooled partition separating the condensation zone of water vapour and cooling water, a vessel for receiving fresh water. Cooled partition is made in the form of shields fixed along the external side surface of the pool filled with sea water at high tide and emptied at low tide. Pool is equipped in the lower part with weirs with opening and closing doors so that their ends opposite to the fixed ones are in a free state above the fresh water collection vessel. Shields are fixed so that they can be pulled out when the pool is empty at low tide and located at angle of 100 to 150 degrees relative to the vertical plane with rigid fixation and move in until it touches the external side surface of the pool when it is filled during high tide.

EFFECT: reduced area occupied by shields during high tide.
