FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a cartridge for an aerosol-generating system, comprising: a container portion for storing a liquid comprising a housing comprising a liquid aerosol-forming substrate, wherein the housing has an open end; and a fluid-permeable heater assembly comprising: (1) an electric heating element configured to heat the liquid aerosol-forming substrate to form an aerosol, wherein the electric heating element includes a planar thread structure having one or more electrically conductive filaments, (2) an electrically insulating base comprising a ceramic material and having a planar attachment surface, wherein the thread structure is in contact with said planar attachment surface, and (3) connectors located on opposite ends of electric heating element and forming two separate electrical contacts, made with possibility of supplying power to thread structure, wherein fluid-permeable heater assembly is arranged above housing open end. Invention also relates to an aerosol-generating system comprising the disclosed cartridge, a main housing, an electric circuit, a microprocessor and a power supply.
