FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: cryogenic power generating plant (CPGP) is a binary thermal power plant with high efficiency of conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy. Cryogenic power generating unit provides conversion of heat energy of liquid and gaseous primary heat carriers with temperature higher than −260 °C to electric power, comprises series-connected working body (WB): liquid WB storage tank, evaporator with coolant supply and discharge channels with initial temperature higher than WB boiling temperature, turbine on one shaft with generator, as well as a receiving device connected to a container for storing liquid RT, which are placed inside a sealed heat-insulated housing with installed vacuum inside and internal temperature not higher than boiling point of WB at pressure of 1 bar. At that, in reservoir for storage of liquid WB there is made a valve for pumping out of it evaporated WB and filling it with new liquid WB with temperature below boiling point, wherein the weight of the liquid fuel fed into the vessel is greater than the weight of the liquid fuel involved in circulation during operation of the plant. CPGP allows converting thermal energy into electrical energy as heat accumulates inside the container for storing liquid WB.

EFFECT: cryogenic power generating plant can simultaneously perform the functions of an electric energy accumulator, as well as functions of an industrial refrigerator or air conditioner.
