FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of cleaning ventilation emissions from hydrogen sulphide and can be used for cleaning waste gases of sewage networks, waste water treatment facilities, garbage processing industry, oil and gas production and processing industries. Method involves absorption of hydrogen sulphide by a liquid process electrically conducting medium containing an oxidising agent – hypochlorite ion, obtained by non-diaphragm electrolysis in a flow cell. Absorbent used is a sodium hypochlorite solution obtained by electrolysis of a chloride-containing solution with excess oxidant relative to the initial concentration of hydrogen sulphide. To maintain the required pH level ≥ 8.5 of the medium, an alkaline reagent is introduced into the electrolyte flow.
EFFECT: disclosed method provides high degree of purification of ventilation emissions from hydrogen sulphide and continuity of the process with simultaneous simplification and cheapening, as well as reduced harmful effect on the environment.
