FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of purifying gas mixtures from hydrogen sulphide. In accordance with the first version, the method includes the absorption of hydrogen sulphide by a liquid technological electrically conductive medium (LTEM), which can represent, in particular, a water solution, containing halogenide-ions of alkali or alkali earth metals, in particular chloride-ions. It results in the separation of gas mixtures into liquid with the absorbed hydrogen sulphide and purified gas. In order to intensify the absorption process a high area of contact of the gas phase with LTEM is provided. After that LTEM with the absorbed and dissociated into ions hydrogen sulphide is subjected to electrolysis in an electrochemical cell (ECC), which results in the release of elementary sulphur.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to intensify the process of purifying hydrocarbon gas mixtures from hydrogen sulphide, increase the productivity coefficient and the purification process efficiency.
