FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing carbon materials and can be used in the synthesis of microporous sorbents for separating waste gas mixtures, for extraction of CO2 from natural gas and as sorbents for adsorption and electrochemical processes. Method includes preliminary thermal treatment of asphalt at temperature of 450–550 °C in an inert atmosphere, mixing heat-treated asphalt with potassium hydroxide in weight ratio of asphalt:KOH 1:(2–4), high-temperature heat treatment of mixture at 700–800 °C in an inert atmosphere, washing the product from inorganic impurities with a solution of hydrochloric acid and water, followed by drying. Raw material used is petroleum asphalt, mixing of preliminarily heat-treated petroleum asphalt with potassium hydroxide is carried out in a planetary-centrifugal mill at acceleration of grinding bodies of 1,000 m2/s for 5–30 minutes to obtain a carbon material with a cell-like structure, specific surface area 2,088–2,935 m2/g, total pore volume 0.99–1.57 cm3/g, micropore volume 0.79–1.00 cm3/g, pore size 0.4–3.5 nm.
EFFECT: method of producing microporous carbon material with a cell-like structure, which provides high CO2 sorption capacity of 3,6–4,1 mmol/g.
