METHOD OF DIRECTION-FINDING RADIATION SOURCES HAVING SMALL ANGULAR DISTANCE Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G01S3/14 G01S3/74 G01S7/36 H04B7/04

Abstract RU 2818576 C1

FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in radar stations with antenna arrays (AA) to obtain an interval estimate of the angular position of radiation sources (RS), having a small angular distance, when using direction-finding methods based on analysis of a correlation matrix of signals and presence of amplitude-phase errors. Disclosed method consists in performing an iterative procedure for obtaining interval estimates of the bearing of unresolved RS, during which an extended projector matrix (PM) is formed on a noise subspace, building on its basis a spatial spectrum (SS) and calculating linear correlation coefficients of gated SS with different expansion of the PM to the noise subspace. Then, an interval estimate of the bearing of the unresolved RS is obtained in the angular gate with the lowest correlation coefficient, which is equal to the position of the maximum of the spatial spectrum in this gate with an interval equal to the width of the gated SS at the level of -3 dB, which contains the masked RS.

EFFECT: obtaining estimates of bearings of the RS having small angular mismatch in the radar station with the antenna array.
