FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in radar systems with a phased antenna array (PAA) with spatial excitation for high-precision direction-finding of radiation sources (RS). Disclosed method consists in using as expected vector of amplitude-phase distribution (APD) on array of irradiators of previously calculated normalized directivity characteristic of channels "irradiator with digital output – PAA", which takes into account the effect of the angular position of the RS on the value of phase distortions of the wave front in the cross section of the radiators. Further, the obtained signal realizations in the channels are used to calculate the correlation matrix and construct a spatial spectrum taking into account the previously calculated vector of the expected APD at different angles of arrival of the wave. Positions of maxima of the spatial spectrum correspond to bearings of the RS.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of direction finding RS in radar station with phased antenna array with spatial excitation and system of irradiators with digital outputs.
