SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of radial self-installation of wheel pairs of a two-axle non-motorized bogie when moving on a railway track with a variable curvature. In the method, on the frame of a two-axle non-motorized bogie having high stiffness in the direction of transverse shear and elastically connected in horizontal plane with axles of wheel pairs, made with possibility of rolling surface of one of wheels relative to rolling surface of another wheel, there are tracking system with front and rear wheelset detectors in the direction of movement of the bogie and actuators with the possibility of acting on the wheel pairs in response to the signal of the tracking system are installed. After determining the front wheel pair in the direction of movement of the bogie, a command is transmitted to it, which prohibits mutual scrolling of rolling surfaces of its wheels, and to rear wheel pair – command, allowing their mutual scrolling.

EFFECT: reduced longitudinal slippage of bogie wheel rolling surfaces along rails and resistance to train motion.
