FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: sphagnum moss collection method involves motorized cutting and collection of at least a part of sphagnum moss, in which cutting is performed in a direction at least substantially parallel to the ground. Cutting is performed in a direction at least substantially horizontal with respect to the upper and lower ends of the intermediate part of the sphagnum moss, leaving the sphagnum moss attached to the ground and repeatedly laying the top part of the sphagnum moss on the ground. In the method, cutting is performed in a direction substantially parallel to the ground and in a direction substantially vertical to the ground, wherein the sphagnum moss remains attached to the ground. Cutting in a direction substantially parallel to the ground is performed in a direction at least substantially horizontal with respect to the upper and lower ends of the intermediate part of the sphagnum moss, while leaving the sphagnum moss attached to the ground and repeatedly laying the top part of the sphagnum moss on the ground.
EFFECT: inventions provide mechanization of manual labor, increase of labor productivity with observance of environmental requirements during industrial harvesting of sphagnum moss, providing operation of the device in hard-to-reach swampy areas with a controlled length of cutting moss turf, which contributes to the most rapid self-reproduction of sphagnum moss turf.
