FIELD: cosmonautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cosmonaut equipment for staying on lunar surface and similar celestial bodies. Footwear (1) of a space suit includes heel (3), sole (2), insole (7) and top (4) connected to power (5) and sealed (6) shells of the space suit. Heel pad (8) with width b and thickness t is attached by means of screws (10) and nuts (9) with blind threaded holes to lower surface of heel (3). Heel pad is made in the form of a rigid plate protruding beyond the outer contour of the heel by the length l2 = 50–100 mm. Width of the heel pad b is equal to the width of heel (3) and is equal to 80–100 mm, while observing the ratio b:t = 10:1. Proposed design of the footwear of the space suit reduces the probability of an astronaut standing and walking on the lunar soil falling on his/her back.
EFFECT: safety and efficiency of cosmonaut activity in space suit on lunar surface.
