FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Surgical treatment of diabetic macular oedema is carried out by forming a sclerostoma with installation of 25G ports. Before the surgical intervention, the macular oedema boundaries are determined by optical coherence tomography. That is followed by a surgical intervention without vitrectomy and suturing of sclerostomas, wherein for formation of sclerostoma 2 ports are introduced at 11 and 13 o’clock. Further, at angle of 45° an internal border membrane of the retina is punctured with 38G needle to the surface of retina at 1 mm from the temporal border of the macular oedema; a balanced saline solution in volume of 0.08–0.12 ml is introduced into the subretinal space. Retinal detachment is induced along the outer edge with a volume corresponding to the boundaries of macular oedema.
EFFECT: method improves visual functions, reduces the traumatic effect on the photoreceptor layer of the retina and preserves the vitreous body.
