FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used to determine the number of insections of internal limiting membrane (ILM) in surgical treatment of a foveola defect in degenerative processes of retina. Optical coherence tomography of retina is carried out. On A-scans of foveolar defect, inner and outer diameters of foveola defect are measured, average value of foveolar defect is determined. Number of relax radial insections of ILM calculated by the formula: N = PD/143.7; where FD is the average value of the foveolar defect (mcm), N is the number of insections.
EFFECT: method provides an increase in the reliability and completeness of closure of foveolar defects.
