FIELD: railway construction.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to railway track design - rail fasteners, in particular, to a method of applying a protective coating for a rail fastening lining and a lining with a protective coating made using this method. In the method, the lining is placed with its bottom surface upwards into the fixing device, the polymer composition is heated to temperature of 30–90 °C and applying a protective coating from the polymer composition for 3 seconds on the lower surface of the lining, followed by holding for at least 120 seconds. Heating of the components and mixing of the components of the polymer composition is carried out before applying the polymer composition to the lower surface of the lining. Thickness "n" of the protective coating on the lower horizontal surface of lining is 0.5–5.0 mm.
EFFECT: higher reliability and service life of rail fastening in extreme conditions and under high loads due to protection of lining from external effects and excluding the formation of chafing of the lining on the bed of the sleeper in the under-rail zone.
