SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method for detecting or monitoring the moisture content or humidity of an article. Instead of traditional methods of detecting or monitoring the moisture content or humidity of a product, such as visual inspection, which requires constant inspection of the product, which is not feasible for many products, or the use of chemically activated indicators, which are usually intended for one-time use, this invention uses an electric charge to detect or control the moisture content or humidity of the product. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide a reusable method for detecting or monitoring moisture content or humidity in various products. The present invention can be used in environments where moisture content or humidity changes frequently.

EFFECT: implementing the stated group of solutions is to increase the accuracy of humidity measurement by accurately measuring the ionization of the external environment around the sensor using the described sensor configuration, and also, since the presented design does not require complete discharge of the electromechanical cell between measurements, as is required for capacitive measurement methods.
