SUBSTANCE: method of preparing and executing a machine wash cycle using washing machine (1) comprises: providing washing machine (1), placing linen (2) to be washed at washing machine (1) in the form of unsorted pile (3), obtaining a digital color image (4) of unsorted pile (3) of linen and at least one part (5) of washing machine (1), determining volume (Vb) of linen heap (3) and/or weight (Pb) of linen heap (3) depending on characteristics of digital color image (4), determining the weighted presence of the given color categories (11) in linen pile (3) depending on the characteristics of the digital color image (4), determination of washing parameters depending on the weighed availability of color categories (11) in given pile (3) of linen and depending on the calculated weight (Pb) and/or volume (Vb) of pile (3) of linen, generation of a notification on preparation for washing, which can be viewed by a user, wherein said washing preparation notification comprises at least one washing instruction based on said determined washing parameters, which can be made by this washing machine (1), as well as one or more of the following: a confirmation request, additional tips on preparation for washing, supplementing the washing instructions, which can be performed by this washing machine (1).

EFFECT: object of the present invention is faster and more effective support of the user during selection of a suitable washing program for laundry to be washed, taking into account at least some characteristics of the considered garments, for example, their colors, volumes or weight.
