FIELD: computer engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering for speech recognition in extremely unfavourable conditions. When measuring speech intelligibility together with emission of a test signal, a noise signal is emitted using a noise signal generator at given noise levels which will exist in the analysed room, and at each frequency the actual level of the acoustic signal/noise mixture is measured at the point of their emission, comparing the measured actual levels of the obtained acoustic signal/noise mixture with given levels at the same frequencies and determining the deviation of the measured levels, then performing the reception and measurement of the acoustic signal/noise mixture formed at the reception point at each frequency of the test signal, with subsequent determination of the signal-to-noise ratio at each frequency of the test signal from the measurement results and the calculation of the speech intelligibility level based on the signal-to-noise ratio defined above.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of measuring speech intelligibility.
