FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry, in particular to a method of producing C-thiomethylated pyrrole derivatives of general formula 1 or 2, where in formula 1 R = iso-C3H7, (CH2)2OH, n-C7H15, in formula 2 R = iso-C3H7, (CH2)2OH, (CH2)2SH. Method is characterized by that to preliminarily obtained at 25–30 °C for 15–20 minutes, mixture of 37% aqueous formaldehyde with pyrrole or 2-(benzpyrrol-3-yl)acetic acid is added to the corresponding thiol RSH, followed by stirring at 70 °C for 6 or 12 hours in a pyridine medium.

EFFECT: disclosed method is single-reactor and enables to obtain new pyrrole derivatives of general formula 1 or 2.
