FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to organic chemistry and specifically to a method of producing sulfonyl derivatives of antipyrine of general formula (1)
Method involves reacting formaldehyde with thiols and antipyrine in the presence of an indium (III) chloride catalyst in molar ratio CH2O:thiol:antipyrine:InCl3= 1:1:1:(0.03–0.07) in water at temperature of 80 °C for 6 hours or reaction with thiols and 4-aminoantypyrine in molar ratio CH2O:thiol:4-aminoantipyrine = 2:2:1 in water at room temperature (~20 °C) for 4 hours.
EFFECT: technical result is a novel method of producing sulfonyl derivatives of antipyrine, which includes fewer synthesis steps and lower temperature conditions.
