SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Technical result is achieved by generating a set of digital elements recommended to the user based on past user actions on the recommendation online platform, wherein the set of digital elements comprises a subset of the main digital elements selected for the user based on past user actions, and for the main digital element from the subset of the main digital elements, the set of digital elements further comprises at least one auxiliary digital element, provided to the user in response to the action of the user with the main digital element during its evaluation and determined based on (a) past user actions of a user with a plurality of digital items and (b) assuming that the user has performed a user action with the main digital item; and the server transmitting the set of digital elements to the electronic device associated with the user.

EFFECT: reduced server latency when recommending digital elements.
