FIELD: advertising.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of providing a level of service when advertising a content element. A method for providing a service level when advertising a content element is proposed, while data representing the history of interaction of a set of service users with content elements and data representing content elements are stored in a storage device, and the method includes: receiving by a server a request for advertising an element from a set of content elements with the required service level, while the service level request includes indications of the target number of users, to whom the content element is provided and who perform an action relatively to it, and the target time period; calculating the distribution among the set of service users of the probability of performing an action after providing the content element; estimating the potential number of users from the set of service users to whom the content element can be provided during the target time period; calculating a probability threshold for the distribution based on data that includes: the target number of users in the service level request, the calculated distribution and the estimated potential number of users; and providing the content element to users from the set of service users who have a probability in the distribution that exceeds the mentioned threshold.
EFFECT: providing subscribers of the service with the opportunity to request the target level of an advertising success indicator for the element of digital content.
