FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of glycine-nitrate pyrolysis and can be used in the manufacture of refractory materials and ceramic matrices for high-temperature pigments, for obtaining crystals of optoelectronics and laser equipment, for creation of reference samples for investigation of spectroscopic and radiation-thermal properties of natural zircon. First, a precursor containing zirconyl nitrate and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) is prepared. Then distilled water and glycine are added in an amount sufficient for reduction of oxidised forms of nitrogen. Obtained solution is evaporated to a thick gel, which is subjected to pyrolysis. Pyrolysis product is crushed and pressed into tablets. Subsequent annealing is carried out at 1,200 °C for 10 hours. Annealing product is ground by mechanical activation for 5 hours, after which it is sintered in air at temperature of 1,550 °C for 20 hours. Obtained synthetic zircon is single-phase.
EFFECT: use of toxic substances is excluded, duration of synthesis is reduced.
