SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of aluminium products for use at metallurgical enterprises, as well as to a method of processing metal wastes. Processing of scrap metal containing aluminium includes at least two-stage grinding. First grinding is carried out to obtain an aluminium scrap fraction of not more than 250 mm, then a second grinding is performed to obtain an aluminium scrap fraction of not more than 50 mm, thereafter, the obtained aluminium scrap fraction is subjected to separation to separate the aluminium scrap fraction larger than 6 mm. Second grinding is carried out by batch loading of aluminium scrap at load on engine of chain crusher in range of 120–550 A and speed of hammers of not less than 1,300 rpm.

EFFECT: production of a product having a rounded shape and meeting the requirements of the technological process of metallurgical production.
