FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: opposed two-stroke internal combustion engine comprises upper and lower annular channels (9), (9'), (6), (6'), several pairs of working cylinders (3), (3'), spaced apart in pairs through angle of 180 degrees, and crankshaft (14) with connecting rod journals. Pistons (13), (13') of working cylinders (3), (3') in pairs are arranged mirror-like relative to each other with possibility of reciprocal movement. Each of working cylinders (3), (3') is equipped with independent combustion chamber (11), (11'). Engine is equipped with several compressor cylinders (1) for homogenisation and preparation of air-fuel mixture. Each compressor cylinder (1) is connected to each combustion chamber (11), (11') of each pair of working cylinders (3), (3'). Each pair of working cylinders (3), (3') is equipped with separate crank chamber (19), (20). Paired mirror pistons (13), (13') of paired working cylinders (3), (3') are installed with possibility of simultaneous working stroke. Connecting rod journals of all subsequent pairs of mirror pistons (13), (13') are separated from each other by an angle determined from the expression β= 180°:n, where n is the number of pairs of working cylinders (3), (3').
EFFECT: increasing the service life of the engine and increasing the stability of the engine.
