FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: method of controlling a two-stroke internal combustion engine, in which a fuel-air mixture (FAM) is homogenised and after closing of the purging and outlet openings of the working cylinder, the FAM in a gaseous state are supplied to the combustion chamber. Ignition advance angle is set in range of 0 to +20 degrees near TDC depending on engine crankshaft rotation frequency. Disclosed is the supply of water or a mixture of water with other fluids at steady-state operating conditions of the engine. At reduction of engine power, supply of water or mixture of water with other liquids is stopped and supply of FAM is resumed. When the maximum pressure in the combustion chamber is reached in the stroke with the FAM supply to the combustion chamber, in the range of the engine crankshaft turn angle from +5 to +30 degrees after the maximum pressure in the combustion chamber is reached, water or a mixture of water with other fluids is supplied in an amount which ensures maintenance of the preset temperature of the engine combustion chamber in real time.
EFFECT: increased stability of engine operation, increased its power at reduction of fuel consumption, reduced toxicity of exhaust gases and increased service life of the engine.
