FIELD: homing systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of homing a missile rotating around its longitudinal axis. When implementing the method, a frame-by-frame video image of the viewing area is obtained using an optoelectronic system fixed in the homing head. Obtained frames are transmitted to a digital video processing unit. Coordinates Y0 and Z 0 of the pixel corresponding to the longitudinal axis OX of the rocket rotation are set as zero coordinates by the digital processing unit. Target is detected by the digital processing unit of the video image, coordinates Yt and Zt of the target are determined along the axes OY and OZ, which are perpendicular to the rocket rotation axis OX. In each frame of the video image values are calculated ΔY and ΔZ of target displacement along axes OY and OZ relative to zero coordinates (Y0, Z0). In time intervals between frames values are calculated ΔY and ΔZ based on extrapolation depending on number of discrete step and sampling period. In addition, the angle of relative position of the target in the roll is calculated. Electronic control unit generates a missile control command depending on the position of the target relative to zero coordinates (Y0, Z0) of the video image.
EFFECT: simplified design and higher accuracy of target homing.
