FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to homing systems and concerns an optical polarization homing head. Lens, a depolariser, a quadrant polariser, a polarization rotator with a reference signal module and a single-element radiation receiver are placed in series in the head. Polariser is made in the form of four sectors, the polarization planes of which are oriented at angles of 0°, 45°, 90°, 135° to the Y axis of the homing head. Polariser is located in the focal plane of the lens, the optical axis of which passes through the centre of the polariser. Output of the radiation receiver is connected to signal inputs of two synchronous detectors. Reference voltage inputs of synchronous detectors are connected to the polarization rotator reference signal module, which forms in-phase cos 2ωt and quadrature sin 2ωt components. Output signals of detectors are connected through low-frequency filters to control signals of ammunition guidance system on target.

EFFECT: simplification of the device, increase in the field of view and accuracy of aiming at the target, expansion of the spectral range of the analysed radiations, as well as providing the possibility of selecting the signal from the radiation receiver with its considerable noise.
