FIELD: testing; transportation.
SUBSTANCE: during tests under operating conditions, a vehicle with a mechanical gearbox is prepared, force converters are installed in the engine supports, crankshaft rotation velocity inductive transducer is mounted opposite the flywheel rim, to which a measuring device is connected, powered from the vehicle’s on-board electric system. Engine is started and movement is started, the engine is heated together with the gearbox and drive axles to the rated temperature, then shifting to first gear, setting maximum crankshaft rotation velocity with maximum fuel supply to engine, switching on vehicle brakes and loading engine with braking moment to value corresponding to rated engine crankshaft speed at maximum fuel supply, with period of 720 degrees of rotation of the crankshaft for at least five working cycles of the engine, the instantaneous values of the crankshaft rotation frequency and reactions of the engine supports are recorded, according to the obtained values of reactions of the engine supports for each measurement moment, the reactive torque on each support is successively calculated, total reactive torque on engine supports relative to crankshaft rotation axis, engine effective power with allowance for crankshaft rotation velocity values at the corresponding measurement moment and average engine effective power value for the whole measurement period, which is taken as rated effective power of the investigated engine.
EFFECT: providing testing under operating conditions.
