FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used for photometric determination of silver cations in aqueous solutions. It is proposed to use glyoxal as a colour reagent for photometric determination of silver cations in aqueous solutions in the presence of an aqueous solution of sodium silicate for stabilization of colloidal silver particles. Optical density is determined at 397 nm.
EFFECT: determination of concentration of silver ions in aqueous solution.
