SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and can be used in photometric determination of sulphide ions in aqueous solutions. Method of determining sulphide ions in aqueous solutions involves preparing a reagent, carrying out a photometric reaction of the analysed solution with a reagent, determining optical density of the reaction mixture and calculating the concentration of sulphide ions. Silver nitrate solution is used as colour reagent. Sodium silicate solution is used as stabilizer of formed silver sulphide.

EFFECT: express photometric method, in which the reaction takes place at the moment of mixing reagents with the analysed solution without heating.
