FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and is intended for protection of power system during operation of electrically driven gas compressor units. Method of electrically driven gas pumping unit operation, at which there is serial supply of medium voltage class electric power from a power source via a power cable through a first switching device to buses. Further, through the second switching device, the unit of matching transformers to the frequency converter, starting the asynchronous electric motor with subsequent output to the rated operating mode, in which when current value in electric motor stator reaches upper limit of maximum current protection setting, reactive power compensation device is connected through third switching device with subsequent compensation of reactive power. Determination of the power of the reactive power compensation device is carried out experimentally before the electric drive gas pumping unit is put into permanent operation, by supplying voltage through the second switching device, unit of matching transformers to frequency converter, start of asynchronous electric motor with output to near-nominal operating mode, then, by closing the contacts of the third switching device, serial alternate connection to the buses of the reactive power compensation device with different power values, checking the presence or absence of parasitic harmonic components, fixing the power values of the reactive power compensation device, at which there are no parasitic harmonic components, and selection of the highest power value of the reactive power compensation device among those values where there are no parasitic harmonic components. At reduction of consumed current by asynchronous electric motor to value of lower limit of setting of maximum current protection, device of reactive power compensation is disconnected. And when there is an emergency event during operation of the electrically driven gas compressor unit, a signal is sent to open the contacts of the second switching device, voltage supply to frequency converter through unit of matching transformers is stopped, and the asynchronous motor is disconnected, and a signal is sent to open the contacts of the third switching device and disconnect the reactive power compensation device.
EFFECT: reduction of electric power consumption during operation of one or several electrically driven gas pumping units, exclusion of parasitic harmonic components of voltage and ferroresonance.
