FIELD: energy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gas transport main pipelines, technologies for controlling compressor station with electric gas compressor units equipped with at least one gas-turbine power plant and power gas turbine as well as electric generator, electrically connected via breakers with reducing transformers of external electrical network and with electric motors of gas compressor units supplied from external electric network or from electric generator of power gas-turbine unit. This method involves frequency control of electric motors of gas compressor units at start-up of standby compressors and at change of gas flow through main gas pipeline by changing speed of electric generator gas-turbine power plant, and with considerable reduction of gas flow through the main gas pipeline - by stopping electric motors of some gas-compressor units and supply of excess electric power generated by electric generator of power gas turbine unit to the high-voltage external network.

EFFECT: higher efficiency with lower consumption of gas in the main gas pipeline is ensured by using power gas-turbine plant equipped with additional control system consisting of two interconnected stages, first of which operates at nominal load of power gas turbine unit and maintaining constant rate of the power gas turbine and current frequency of electric generator synchronized with external electric network, and the second stage operates while reducing gas consumption, compressed by compressor units followed with frequency adjustment of rate and power of compressor electric motor.
