SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at compressor stations of main gas pipelines with gas turbine and electrically driven gas compressor units. Method of operation of compressor station of main gas pipelines, containing electrically driven and gas turbine gas compressor units, high-speed regenerative gas turbine expander power plant with high and medium pressure turboexpanders, according to which useful operation of high and medium pressure turboexpanders is used to drive the compressor; fuel gas from main gas line outlet section is heated by heat carrier heat, expanded in high and medium pressure turboexpanders, heated by heat carrier heat and supplied to combustion chambers of high-speed regenerative gas turbine expander power plant and gas turbine gas compressor units; heat of combustion products expanded in gas turbine, used for heating of air compressed in compressor and heating of heat carrier; most of the electric power generated in the electric generator of the gas turbine expander power plant, is supplied for power supply and frequency control of revolutions and power of high-speed asynchronous electric motors of electric-driven gas pumping units, its smaller part is used for power supply of compressor station auxiliaries and for supply to external electric networks.

EFFECT: method of operation of a compressor station of main gas pipelines with gas turbine and electrically driven gas pumping units and a gas turbine expander power plant is proposed.
