FIELD: animal husbandry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cattle breeding, and is intended for determining the number of somatic cells in cow milk. Within three adjacent days before milking, the levels of bioelectric potentials of superficially localized biologically active centres (SLBAC) of a cow are measured, such as No. 49 - localized in the middle of the base of each anterior lobe of the udder, No. 56 - localized in the centre of the anterior lobe of the udder, No. 57 - localized in the centre of the posterior lobe of the udder, No. 59 - localized on the ventral medial line, 4 finger widths caudal to the sternum. The average level of the bioelectric potential of these superficially localized biologically active centres is calculated. With a value of this indicator from 22.16 µA to 32.92 µA, the number of somatic cells in milk is taken to be up to 300 thousand per 1 cm3, with a value from 32.92 mcA to 45.5 mcA - from 300 to 500 thousand per 1 cm3, with a value of 45.5 mcA and above - from 500 to 1000 thousand per 1 cm3.
EFFECT: method allows you to quickly and fairly objectively determine the number of somatic cells in cow milk.
