TEST BENCH FOR ONBOARD EQUIPMENT IN OUTER SPACE ON AN ORBITAL STATION Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC B64G4/00 G01M99/00

Abstract RU 2820237 C1

FIELD: tests of space equipment.

SUBSTANCE: test bench in outer space at the orbital station includes a platform for placing tested units exposed to external and operational factors, and test equipment consisting of electrically and data connected internal and external units. Platform for placement of tested units and external unit of test equipment are made in form of remote crate, located in open space outside sealed compartment of spacecraft. Test bench includes means for installation of one to eight unified modules into the crate for testing in outer space and their subsequent extraction after completion of the test. Crate is equipped with mechanical means of protection against external effects, such as micrometeoroids and/or fragments of space debris. Besides, crate and unified modules are equipped with thermal conditions. Unified module for its mounting in the crate is equipped with a fixing device providing fixation of the module and control of its fixation, which is electrically and informationally connected to the internal unit of the stand. Lock of unified module consists of guides and movable handle-lock, and lock of crate—of guides and catchers. Design of the unified module ensures its scaling in multiples of the width of the minimum module.

EFFECT: enabling assembly and disassembly of the crate outside the sealed compartment (“assembly in place”).
