FIELD: heat insulation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal corrugated thermal insulation (MCTI) of equipment and pipelines of nuclear power plants (NPP). MCTI is made of heat-insulating blocks (HIB). Each MCTI unit comprises a set of non-welded cylindrical membranes made from stainless steel sheet with thickness of 0.05–0.1 mm. Longitudinal and end walls of the HIB are made in the form of closed rectangular adjacent corrugations located along the outer and inner perimeters of the walls of the blocks, thus creating closed outer heat-insulating air layers which screen heat propagation. Membrane row of HIB is made by means of elastic membranes. Membranes are located on inner shelves of corrugated walls of the block and are made with their convexity directed to the cover of the heat-insulating block. Each membrane consists of two halves of membranes butt connected to each other with minimum mounting gap and attached to sealing support by single-sided spot contact welding. MCTI with total weight of 28.0 t with membrane thickness of 0.09 mm per 39.0 t (58.0%) reduces weight of thermal insulation in comparison with insulation with weight of 67.0 t, installed at blocks of Kudankulam NPP in India and Tianwan NPP in PRC.
EFFECT: reduced thickness of walls and cover of HIB, as well as reduced heat transfer by heat conductivity optimize thickness of heat-insulating blocks from 160 to 60 mm.
