FIELD: measurement; testing.
SUBSTANCE: present technical solution relates to materials science and fracture mechanics. To assess the operational reliability of metals and alloys, the concept of a genome-forming matrix of seven physical and mechanical parameters is introduced: ultimate strength, yield point, relative elongation, coefficient of dynamic viscosity, specific energy of destruction, rate of deformation, temperature. Calculation-experimental method is based on testing of standard flat or round specimens under tension up to destruction, which results enable to determine by calculation the basic values: coefficient of dynamic viscosity and specific energy of destruction.
EFFECT: realization of possibility of evaluation of operational reliability of metals and alloys.
