FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed technical solution relates to the field of measuring instruments and can be used in monitoring the profile of threaded surfaces of pipes. In the disclosed method, on a frame are arranged a clamping device comprising prismatic clamping jaws, a clamping jaw drive, support posts, carriage with laser scanning system, made with possibility of movement on support posts, and braking device. Pipe is installed in a vertical position and rigidly fixed. To perform the measurement process, a carriage with a laser scanning system is installed and the scanning process is started to obtain data on the positions of points of the threaded surface from the chamfer on the upper end of the pipe. Laser scanning system descends by gravity along the pipe and performs the scanning process. In the process of movement, the braking mechanism adjusts the speed of the carriage depending on the obtained density of the cloud of points of the measured surface.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of measurements when measuring the profile parameters of the threaded surface of a pipe.
